Singing on the London jazz circuit since 2001, Catherine is a charismatic and entertaining performer. She has a warm expressive tone which she uses expertly to create moods from sultry to joyous drawing on influences such as Anita O’Day, Hoagy Carmichael, Peggy Lee, Joni Mitchell, Patricia Barber and Barbra Streisand. A seasoned performer Catherine has appeared at the Spice of Life, the Vortex Jazz Club, Hugo’s, Pizza on the Park, the Pheasantry, the Belvedere Jazz Club, St. Ants Jazz Club, and the Ajani Grill and Jazz bar.
Paul has had an extensive musical career in many fields including performing, composing and arranging music for film, TV and theatre. He was a Musical Director for many years for the National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company.
He has performed with luminaries including Sir Peter Maxwell Davis, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Johnny Dankworth, Lulu, Tony Hatch, John Williams, Nancy Wilson and Shorty Rodgers. Paul has also performed in major concert venues around the world, such as the Royal Festival Hall, the Schubert Theatre (USA), Berlin Concert Hall, the Royal Albert Hall and Ronnie Scott’s.
Ian Marcus was born in London and comes from a family of professional musicians. He started his musical life by studying flute at the Purcell School of Music and then with the renowned flautist Gareth Morris who was Head of Flute at the Royal Academy of Music, London.
During this time Ian received an award from Jazz Journal as Best Jazz Flautist in Great Britain. Since then Ian has worked on various TV and Radio programmes and has also provided music for commercials. He has appeared on a host of cds, mainly in the Jazz and Latin idiom.
As well as playing flute, much of Ian’s work is on Saxophone and Double Bass. He plays in a variety of settings ranging from club and concert performance to corporate events, functions and weddings.
